About

Experience that understands how healthcare actually works.

Honeycomb Consulting Group was founded to help healthcare organizations navigate complex decisions with clarity—especially when financial pressure, payer dynamics, and operational reality collide.

Our work is shaped by decades spent inside healthcare systems, physician alignment efforts, and managed care organizations. We’ve seen how decisions are made, where they break down, and what it takes for them to hold up over time.
Why Honeycomb was created

After years working within healthcare organizations, we saw a recurring gap:wellintended leaders being forced to make highstakes decisions with incomplete or overly generic analysis.

Honeycomb Consulting Group was founded in 2020 to offer something different—thoughtful, customized support grounded in real operational experience and an understanding of clinical realities. Our goal has always been simple: help organizations make decisions they can stand behind.
Leadership
Bill Breen, DSc
Founder & Managing Principal

Bill Breen brings decades of experience working at the intersection of healthcare operations, physician alignment, and managed care strategy.

Before founding Honeycomb Consulting Group, Bill served for more than a decade as Senior Vice President of Physician Alignment at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, where he was responsible for physician employment strategy and operations across the system. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief Executive Officer of HealthChoice LLC, leading managed care operations and strategy, and held multiple senior leadership roles within healthcare organizations.

Bill earned his Doctor of Science in Health Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2018. His work today reflects a deep understanding of how financial strategy, organizational structure, and clinical reality intersect—and how easily wellintended decisions can miss the mark without that context.
Our perspective

We believe effective healthcare strategy:

● respects how care is actually delivered,
● acknowledges financial and operational constraints,
● and avoids false simplicity.

We don’t believe in perfect answers. We believe in clear thinking, honest tradeoffs, and decisions grounded in reality.
