Honeycomb Management Group provides Management Services Organization (MSO) support and consulting services to healthcare organizations.
Based in Memphis, Tennessee, Honeycomb works with healthcare organizations across the Southeast. The firm reflects the experience of a team that has spent years working across managed care, reimbursement strategy, value‑based care, and healthcare operations—including time within health systems, academic medical groups, independent physician organizations, and PHOs. Much of that work has taken place in environments where financial performance, payer dynamics, and care delivery are closely intertwined.
Honeycomb was established in 2020 to bring that experience together into a more focused approach to reimbursement, operational performance, and complex decision-making.
The combination of MSO and consulting work is intentional. It keeps the work grounded in real operational and financial conditions—how organizations are structured, how they are paid, and what constraints they operate under. That perspective carries through directly to the consulting work, which is built around how healthcare actually functions in practice.
That experience also includes long-standing working relationships across the healthcare landscape—with physicians, health system leadership, payers, vendors, and other advisors. In practice, this means knowing how to navigate the environment, how decisions are made, and who needs to be involved to move something forward.
When outreach is needed—whether with payers, partners, or other stakeholders—those conversations are not starting from zero. That often changes both how quickly things move and how seriously they’re taken. Even when the path forward is clear, working through these issues takes time and sustained focus. Our role is to move that work forward efficiently—so teams can stay focused on patient care and running the organization.
The work typically involves situations where reimbursement, operations, and care delivery are not fully aligned—and where the underlying drivers are not immediately clear. These issues often surface as financial pressure, performance gaps, or decisions with long-term implications.
Honeycomb also brings particular depth in value‑based care and managed care contracting. These areas require not only technical understanding, but a practical view of how incentives, contracts, and care delivery interact over time.
Bill Breen, DSc, serves as Chief Executive Officer and is part of a leadership team with deep experience across healthcare operations, managed care, and physician alignment. His background includes more than 30 years of experience in managed care contracting and strategy, including prior roles as Senior Vice President of Physician Alignment at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and CEO of HealthChoice, where he led managed care strategy and operations.
The objective is straightforward: strengthen performance in a way that holds over time, without disrupting the delivery of care.
